What Is Reiki?

Reiki is an ancient form of energy healing that originated in Japan roughly 2500 years ago. The word Reiki can be split into two parts. "Rei" is the Japanese word meaning "universal spirit" and "Ki" is the Japanese word meaning "vital life force energy". In the practice of Reiki, a practitioner will channel vital life force energy from the Universe, God, Iha, Allah, or whichever term resonates most with you, which is then used to aid in your healing, the balancing of your chakra centers and meridian points, and your overall well being. Reiki has been scientifically proven to help reduce stress, pain, and anxiety.
Reiki energy is an intelligent energy that knows where it is needed most and flows in that direction. It can transcend time and space, therefore it can be used to heal or send positive energy to the past, present, and future. It can be sent and received remotely. This is referred to as distance healing.

Most people are aware of our 7 main chakra centers, but we also have hundreds of smaller energy portals in our bodies known as meridian points. Reiki energy is channeled down through the crown chakra of the practitioner, and then flows out through the meridian points in the center of our palms.
Reiki practitioners go through multiple attunements in training. Attunements are sacred ceremonial blessings that are designed to generate an everlasting spiritual channel between the Reiki practitioner and Reiki energy. Attunements may only be performed by certified Reiki master teachers and passed down to students.
